As part of its efforts to enhance national identity and the capabilities of volunteers to serve their local communities, Sandooq Al Watan, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence and ADNOC, has launched the activities of the third volunteer training program in Dhanna City, Abu Dhabi, with the participation of more than 60 volunteers, and under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan Member of the Cabinet, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sandooq Al Watan.
The program’s activities took place over the duration of three days, under the supervision of a number of international experts and specialists, with the support and participation of several federal, local and private entities.
The program focused on utilizing the capabilities of national volunteers to further benefit their communities, local environment and the nation as a whole. It provided intensive sessions that addressed the comprehensive vision of the features of tolerance and coexistence in the UAE, and explained the role of the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence in promoting these values locally and internationally. It also provided an introduction to the “Champions of tolerance” program, in addition to introducing volunteers to the key traits of a tolerant personality, and the importance of demonstrating these traits as volunteers.
The program trainers presented ideas and initiatives relating to several key areas, including supporting and enabling people of determination through providing them with opportunities that utilize their skillsets and integrates them into society, in addition to initiatives that relate to senior citizens, as well as orphans and children in general, as part of Sandooq Al Watan’s aim to enhance national identity within the younger generations, embody national priorities, and enhance the prospects for sustainable development by consolidating the pillars of community participation, undertaking initiatives, and the adoption of pioneering and innovative ideas and projects that serve the developmental process in the country.
