ABU DHABI, 17th April, 2017 (WAM) — The National Fund, (Sandooq Al Watan), the has received a new contribution of AED2 million from Emirati businessman Yousef Mohammed Ali Al Nowais, who sought to support the fund and its strategic objectives to build a sustainable knowledge economy in the UAE.
Sandooq Al Watan has pledged to support research and development projects that are of strategic priority for the UAE. The fund has set a plan to cooperate with its partners from the private sector to create an environment that encourages talented individuals to innovate in research-related fields.
Al Nowais called on UAE businessmen, residents, and all national and international companies to support Sandooq Al Watan in its objectives and strategic plans. “Contribution to Sandooq Al Watan is the least we can do to repay our country for all that it has given us,” he said. “Under the forward-thinking vision and policies of our wise leadership, this nation has come to enjoy a quality of life, safety, and stability that are rare to come across elsewhere. Sandooq Al Watan is a unique initiative that embodies the values of unity and cohesion, and helps preserve and multiply the UAE’s achievements,” he added.
Sandooq Al Watan’s board of directors commended Al Nowais’s generous support, praising the great response from businessmen across the UAE, who have come forward to support the fund’s strategic objectives to create a better and brighter future for the country, adding that these donations reflect the values of social responsibility and solidarity in the UAE.
